BOUDREAUX, LOUIS

Irvine, CA

Spouse: Sherri
Children: Nicolas- 4, Lindsey- 20 months

Upon graduating from SKHS, I attended Central Washington State College (now CWU) and participated in Cross County and Track. I lettered in all four years in each and set several records. My biggest accomplishment was making the All American Team in ‘76. I finished 20th out of 375 runners. After graduating in ‘77, I spent the next eight years in the USMC. I saw many things that the average person would never see in Port Orchard. I spent time in Camp Pendleton, CA; Okinawa, Japan; and Korea. My last three years, I was an instructor at OCS in Quantico, VA.

In September, ‘85, I left the USMC and went to work for Nissan Motor Corp. in Aurora, IL. I spent about fourteen months there and was transferred to the distribution center in Costa Mesa, CA. I did spend some time in the reserve unit in Joliet, IL and one training session our unit went to Narvic, Norway for two weeks. After about three years there in Costa Mesa, I left Nissan and joined the ranks of Toyota in Torrance, CA. I have been here for the last eight years.

Right now, I spend my time watching my four year old (Nicolas) and my twenty month old (Lindsey) grow up. I suppose I got started late but this was not a race. Suppose that some of you have grandchildren older!

So far the kids have been a source of fun. I wonder if that will change when they get to their teens. Somewhere in the house is the “Kid Instructional Manual”. I suppose when I find it, the parenting job will be easier.

For some for some of the activities that I have done over the past twenty-five year: I have enjoyed traveling and seeing some of the unusual places, besides the garden spots the USMC sends you to. No matter where you travel to, there is no place lie home.

I have made seventeen skydives in IL and CA. The most dangerous part is the plane ride up to 5,000 feet. The most difficult part is going last; go first it is easier. The best part is the slow drift down to earth. I also have a certification for SCUBA, a different type of diving. Hawaii was by far the best place to go diving. This was my way of keeping busy. I managed to squeeze in some hunting and fishing. Best fishing trip was to a series of lakes by the Hudson Bay. The Northern Pike fishing was fantastic. Next will be the Yukon and Alaska. Second best trip was hand line fishing on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

What I look forward to the most is when the family gets a little older and taking them to some of the places that I’ve been and exploring others. Who know? Maybe I’ll see some of you there.

To complete the question of what I have been doing the past twenty-five years? Wondering where the time went and saying, “I can’t believe twenty-five years have gone by.”

BUNTEN, BRIDGIT (BAIN)

I’ve been married for seventeen years and our son, Jeff is twelve. Mike is still a hairdresser and we own Indigo Hair Salon and a nail shop called Simply Nails in Chico across from the golf course. I’ve been in the grocery business for twenty-four years now. Two years ago Fred Meyer bought our store and converted it into a Fred Meyer Market Place in Silverdale. I still do the pricing for the Grocery Department. I still try to golf at least twice a week and I’m involved in the House Committee at Kitsap Golf and County Club. I was recently Event Organizer for our annual Spring Wine Fair and Art Show. I’m getting to know a lot about fine wines and how much I love them! I’m also on the Executive Board of our local union, United Food and Commercial Workers.

My travels include Mexico, Hawaii, New York, Sun River in Oregon, and wine country in Oregon. Last year we got invited to a concert at Ste. Michelle Winery to see “Chicago” and did that ever bring back memories; only it is legal to drink wine while watching the concert under the stars. This year we have tickets to see “YES”. Can’t wait.!

It’s been fun working on the Committee this time, again, and getting to remiss about old times.

PEDERSON, PERRY

Salt Lake City, UT

Children: Andrew and Roberto

After high school, I entered military service for the Washington National Guard as an infantry man (along with Greg Stoner and a few other home boys). In ‘74 I entered the regular Army and was trained as motion picture photographer and served a three year enlistment at Dugway Proving Ground, UT. During my tour of duty at Dugway, I got married and had two boys, Andrew and Roberto. I completed an AS degree from Weber State College in ‘81. In ‘96 I completed a BS degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. In that same year I was selected to attend the Army Management Staff College and I currently enrolled in an MBA program with an emphasis in Technology Management at University of Phoenix. My civilian career started at Dugway Proving Ground as a GS-7 Scientific & Technical Photographer in ‘80.
From ‘80 to ‘89 I held several positions within the Optical Data Branch there, culminating in a position as Chief Data Assessment with over a dozen Performance, Special Act and Suggestion Awards. I then took a position as a Computer Specialist from ‘89-‘91 receiving two more Performance Awards and the Department of the Army Achievement Medal. I was selected for my current position, GS-13 Physical Scientist, in ‘91 and have worked for four different Technical Directors.

I am currently a Project Manager for several major initiatives at Dugway, the Virtual Proving Ground supporting the testing and training needs of our Nations response to domestic acts of terrorism using chemical and biological weapons, and a Project Management Information System. I have been the only person to hold the position of the Office of Research and Technology Applications there Dugway Proving Ground since Dugway was first designed as a laboratory for the purpose of Technology Transfer. As such I negotiate cooperative research and development agreements with academia, private sector films and State and local government.

From ‘89-‘95 I owned a small town convenience store that was a combination gas station, cafĂ©, grocery store and trailer park. I kept my full time job while other family members ran the store during most days, it was a lot of hard work with long days but I found it very rewarding. I have learned many things over the years and I hope to continue learning for the rest of my life. But the one thing that I hope to always remember is just how precious time with my family and friends is. I look forward to seeing all of you there.

From ‘73-‘79, I was working at Cliff’s Cycle Center in Bremerton and hanging out with the guys. Then Gary Keck passed away and I went looking for the meaning of “life”.

I moved to Seattle and was working over there when I met my wife, Linda. We married in ‘80. In ‘82 we moved to L.A. where our oldest son, Kenny, was born. It didn’t take long to get tired of L.A., so we moved back to Port Orchard in August of ‘83. I went back to Cliff’s Cycle.

In ‘85 we built a house in Olalla and our youngest son, Scott, was born. From then until now, we have been busy with the kids and with work. I am currently remodeling our house so the kids have the room they need.

SHARRETT, TERRY (NYGARD)

Port Orchard, WA

Spouse: Jim
Children: Erin- 18

As my son graduated this past June and his life is undergoing changes, I feel my life is also undergoing changes. My past eighteen years had been dedicated to nurturing, loving and catering to him (and Jim, too, of course) and now I have the rest of my life to do what Jim and I want to do. Wow…. I am still working at Port Orchard United Methodist Church – downtown Port Orchard. I have worked there since ‘83. My main function at the church is to keep the congregation happy – not an easy task in this new era of change in worship rituals and music. My long term goals are to continue to be close with my family (ten of us just got back from a ten day vacation), to keep active (just learning to golf), to keep my mind working (belong to a book club) and to be the best person I can be (trying to do what God wants me to do). Meanwhile I am trying to grow old(er) gracefully.

SHARP, RANDY

Tullahoma, TN

Spouse: Lori
Children: Dallas- 17, Brandi- 16, Alexander- 5

Sorry I lost touch with everyone. After graduating from the “blue zoo” (AF Academy) in ‘77 with a BS in Civil Engineering did ten plus years flying and engineering with the Air Force in California, South Dakota and England. Got my Civil Engineering License in ‘83 (tho I’m still just a frustrated architect at heart) and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University in ‘84. Spent five years working in England with a RED HORSE outfit (like the Navy’s SeaBees) building racquetball courts (yep) and runway repair sites. Came back stateside in ‘84, to manage construction upgrading B-52 bomber facilities at Ellsworth AFB, SD; for the then new B-1B bomber. Left the Air Force in ‘87 as a Captain to pursue the exciting civilian opportunities in the aerospace world. Headed for Edwards AFB with Computer Sciences Corporation (SCS) to assist with B-2 test facility construction and fight test (oooh! Black box stuff! – I could tell you more but I’d have to kill ya!) Spent the next eight years at Edwards doing flight test, construction, and broadening my horizons by branching out into the world of environment support. Almost finished my MS in Environmental Engineering before heading to Tennessee!!?? Now I head up the Design Engineering support to Arnold AFB in TN (jet engines and wind tunnels testing and such) and here I am!

Along the way I was married in ‘77 ad divorced in ‘87 because the ex didn’t want kids, just more $$$. Remarried in ‘91 to my lovely Lori and had an instant family with Dallas (now seventeen and a half) and Brandi (sixteen) and blessed with AJ (Alexander James) in ‘93 and the rest is history. We have a golden retriever (Allie) and a Siamese cat (Sasha), too many bills and spend our summers on the local lakes water skiing and playing with the boat we hauled all the way from California with us. But enough about me –let me hear from you guys!! SOON!!

SVAC, CHUCK

Olalla, WA

Spouse: Lorraine
Children: Randall- 15, Maureen- 12

After high school went to Central for one year to major in music. Then went to work over the summer and ended up in restaurant management and took some management courses while working more than full time. Ran a 24 hour place in Tacoma for a while and still found time to get married to Lorraine in ‘77. I went to work for Pizza Haven in management for ten years, left the company and went and did the same thing for Pietro’s Pizza for ten years! My boss at Pietro’s quit and wet to work at AM/PM so he sent me an application and I was ultimately hired to manage ARCO/AM-PM facilities in the Kitsap County area. So now I work for ARCO (Atlantic-Richfield Co.) as a Facility Manager for the last three yeas. A year ago last September I opened up the brand new AM/PM on Silverdale Way north of Silverdale at Hwy 308 (Keyport) and continue to operate at that location. I enjoy the change and working in a fast paced atmosphere that has become very competitive (o.869/gal) for gas at my store right now (3/16/98). The open 24 hours aspect keeps me on my toes and always responsible for the facility but I enjoy it and the people I work with.

I am happy (for now) to do this and raise our two kids out in Olalla on our two and a half acres.

Sports & music! Hope to see you at the next one, o.k.?

WILLIAMS, KATHERINE (ALBERTSON)

California City, CA

Spouse: Randy
Children: Shawn- 23, Sheldon- 19

My family is now settled after husband retired from the Air Force, October ‘97. We have lived all over the world – at least it seems like it after spending: four years in Japan; four years in Germany; three years in Las Vegas; four years in Great Falls, MT; four years in Sacramento, CA; one year in San Antonio, TX; and settled here in California City, CA.

I’ve been a secretary for Civil Service working for the Air Force, Army and Department of Energy in Nevada. I spend most of my free time either working in my craft room, landscaping or reading books. We have traveled extensively and taken our boys everywhere. I’m proud of my boys who are both in college, Shawn is finishing up and Sheldon almost has his two year degree. Life is very good for us right now!

WORLAND, WENDY (SODEMAN)

Olalla, WA

Spouse: Earl
Children: Kimmy- 14, Krisi- 12

We are in Wyoming right now tending Earl’s parents, who are in their 80’s.

Earl and I have been married nineteen years –and have lived in Olalla all but our first year. He is a Captain with the Seattle Fire Department and I am a MOM! I haven’t worked (for money!) since the girls were born but next ear we’ll have a freshman at Bellarmine Prep and two at St. Patrick School in Tacoma, so that may change! I volunteer at the school and do a lot of driving as all three girls play basketball and nearly year round soccer.

Two years ago for spring break, we went with eleven other couples on a cruise in the Caribbean. Earl and I went three days early and stayed with friends in San Juan, Puerto Rico, before boarding the ship. With a vacation!

WRIGHT, DEE (CAMPBELL)

Port Orchard, WA

Spouse: Matt
Children: Zachary- 14, Audrey-7

I have worked as a civilian for the federal government for the past nineteen years (I can retire in thirteen but who’s counting). I currently work in the recruitment branch for the regional personnel office in Silverdale. I have been married for seventeen years. Two years ago we moved to a house on a private lake and I feel like we live in our own park!

ZDENEK, RUSSELLE ‘Ruffie’ (PIKE)

Bremerton, WA

Spouse: Thomas
Children: Nicole – 17, Tessa- 10

I have been happily married for twenty-four years. We have lived in the same house in Tracyton for twenty-three years. We just added on and remodeled and we are still married. That’s quite a feat! I have had several jobs; I worked at Harrison Hospital for a while, I have worked at a couple of auto part stores, I have also worked at a fabric store (big mistake if you like to sew or do crafts, you spend your paychecks at your job!). I have worked in the Central Kitsap School District for the last seven years. I work Food Service and volunteer in my youngest child’s class quite a bit. I love children and find this job very rewarding plus I get all the holiday and summer off with my own kids.

My husband is in the band, Soul Survivors, so I get to be a groupie. When my husband turned forty he begged for a Harley and we have so much fun riding on that bike!

My daughter, Nicole, is seventeen and is very musical and sings wonderfully. My daughter, Tess, is ten and thinks that she is a world class actress. My life for the last twenty-five years has been absolutely wonderful. I have a very happy life and the best husband and kids in the world. I feel very blessed.

FRIENDSHIP

There’s a miracle called friendship,
That dwells within the heart
And you don’t know how it happens
or when it gets its start
But the happiness it brings you
always gives a special lift
And you realize that friendship
is life’s most precious
gift….
